Alliance Ambassadors Elect Officers
We are pleased to announce that the Alliance Ambassadors have voted in new officers for the inaugural 2023-2024 cohort. Congratulations to Laterika Tooks, Melissa Joiner, Chloe Cunningham, Adrien Mitchell, Ashlynn Bowman, and Will Zee Tidwell! They will each serve in their roles until the next cohort of Alliance Ambassadors are recruited in the fall of 2024. The Alliance Ambassadors are a group of folks between 18-30 years old in Central Arkansas united by a shared passion for their community and being part of the Alliance’s efforts to end hunger in Arkansas.
A new study reveals that despite increasing demand for WIC, states are struggling to reach all the women, children and infants eligible for the program.
Expanding access to the WIC program is a priority for the Alliance. WIC not only supplies supplemental foods high in nutritional value, the program also provides caregivers other important components including nutrition education, breastfeeding support, and health referrals. Did you know that mothers aren’t the only people who qualify for WIC?
