Job Title: Food Sourcing Programs Coordinator
Status: Full Time – 40 hours/week, Exempt
Reports To: FS&L Programs Manager

About Arkansas Hunger Relief Alliance (the Alliance)
The Alliance is a 501(c)(3) statewide anti-hunger organization formed in 2004 by the food bank network in Arkansas. We collaborate as a statewide voice advancing equitable solutions to hunger. Our vision is to create a hunger-free Arkansas.

POSITION SUMMARY
Support the programs and services offered to Alliance members and partners by the Food Sourcing & Logistics Department, primarily the Arkansas Gardening Project. Position relates to a broad spectrum of individuals and organizations including but not limited to; member food banks, agencies and their staff; state government staff; corporate donors; trucking and transportation companies and Feeding America staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, support and maintain positive relationships with members, volunteers and donors.
  • Instruct volunteers in proper and safe methods of harvesting and packaging.
  • Assist FS&L Manager with planting, maintenance, and harvest of crops.
  • Transport supplies and produce to and from planting/harvest site.
  • Active participation in event planning and statewide meetings.
  • Support partner organizations in gardening, farming, and ranching activities.

REQUIRED SKILLS and ABILITIES

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including oral communications and customer service.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of people with a team approach.
  • Ability to handle a multi-task work environment and remain focused.
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to travel, provide personal transportation, and possess current driver’s license with good driving record.
  • You must be able to work evenings and weekends as necessary.
  • Able to lift 75 pounds.
  • Experience operating farm equipment is desirable.
  • Desire to make a difference in the lives of people in need.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree in agriculture or related field OR five years combined experience in food banking, food industry distribution, agriculture, business management, or transportation and logistics.
  • A strong willingness to learn.

The Arkansas Hunger Relief Alliance offers a compensation package including a beginning salary of $45,000 + benefits. This is a grant-funded position subject to review annually.
