How to Participate:

1. Invite your legislators. Use the invitation at the right to invite your legislator to lunch. (Right-click to save the image and attach to your personal email invitation.) Find your legislator and their contact information at this website

2. Attend our orientation webinar on Wednesday, February 15 at noon to learn what to expect and how you can help advocate. Follow this link to register for webinar.

3. RSVP and join us at the State Capitol on Wednesday, February 22. Gather with other hunger relief advocates between 9:30-10 a.m. at the old gas station at 1600 West 3rd Street, located near the north Capitol entrance. Lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Capitol Hill Building, 1523 West 4th Street.

NOTE: Parking is available in the lot at Next Level Events, located at the Union Train Station, 1400 West Markham in Little Rock. Limited street parking may be available along West 4th Street. You may also drop off Lobby Day participants at the old gas station at 1600 West 3rd Street and follow the one-way Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive to the parking lot at Next Level Events. Please keep in mind parking is approximately two blocks away from our gathering place.

Bernadette Downey is the Associate Director, Government Relations and Advocacy for Share Our Strength. In this role, she is responsible for leading the team that works to advance state-level public policies that support kids and families and connect kids to healthy food, every day, as well as direct the organization’s government relations efforts with the nation’s governors, state legislators, and mayors. Prior to joining Share Our Strength, Bernadette managed local, state, and federal government relations at Food & Friends, a Metro DC nonprofit that provides medically appropriate home-delivered meals to individuals living with life-challenging illnesses and represented nonprofit clients on federal issues before Congress while at Russ Reid, a private lobbying firm. Bernadette received her BA in Sociology from The Catholic University of America and a MA in Government from The Johns Hopkins University.
