Hunger is a solvable problem, yet throughout history, it’s one we’ve failed to solve.

The Arkansas Hunger Relief Alliance is proud to recognize the recipients of the 2023 Acting Out Against Hunger awards. These annual awards commend individuals, businesses, and organizations in Arkansas who go the extra mile addressing food insecurity within their communities. The awards will be presented during Hunger Action Breakfast on Thursday, September 21, 2023.

Being the No Kid Hungry Youth Ambassador for the Arkansas Hunger Relief Alliance this summer was so much more fulfilling than I imagined upon starting in May. 

Our No Kid Hungry team supported the award of over $305,000 in summer meal implementation grants, sponsored by our national No Kid Hungry partner Share Our Strength.

What a great day to be involved in advocacy!

It’s that time of year again: School Breakfast Month! Every year in March, the Arkansas Hunger Relief Alliance recognizes the importance of school breakfast in helping our kids be healthy, active, and ready to learn.

We are prepping for an in-person Lobby Day. On Wednesday, February 22, join the Alliance and other advocates at the Capitol as we roll out a number of proactive bills and enjoy a hearty lunch of pinto beans, rice, and cornbread with our state legislators.

Last week the national No Kid Hungry campaign honored twelve summer and afterschool meals providers across the country as Out-of-School Time Meals Champions. Annette Dove, founder and director of Targeting Our People’s Priorities with Service (TOPPS) in Pine Bluff, was honored as one of those twelve making a difference in their communities.
